Queen Anne's Lace Or
Hemlock?

Hemlock has a nuorotoxin called Connine, this works by paralyzing your muscles, it generally starts in a person’s legs and works it’s way up until it reaches your heart which stops beating, causing death. While many plants are very deadly, one of the biggest problems with Hemlock is that it looks nearly identical to Queen Anne’s lace, (also known as Wild Carrot). However there are a few ways to tell them apart.
1. The Stem:
The stem of Queen Anne’s Lace is entirely green with small hairs, while Hemlock has a very smooth green stem, that often is discolored near the bottom, also Hemlock’s stem is hollow.
2. The Flowers:
The flowers of Queen Anne’s lace are packed tightly together, Hemlock is spread further apart, also Queen Anne's lace has a redish purple floret in the center of a bunch of flowers.
3. The Smell:
Queen Anne’s lace smells like carrots, while Hemlock has an unpleasant musty smell.
In the world of extremely poisonous plants, Hemlock is one of the most known. notorious as the weapon of execution for Socrates.
